BHUPAL, also called Bhupalan, a village 13 km north ofMansa (29° 59`N, 75° 23`E) in Bathinda district of the Punjab, is sacred to Guru Tegh Bahadur, who halted here for a night during his travels across the Malva region. The shrine built inside the village to commemorate the visit, called Gurdwara Nauvin Patshahi, comprises a flatroofed hall with a vaulted ceiling. The Guru Granth Sahib is seated in it on a canopied platform. Besides daily worship, special gatherings take place to mark the birth anniversaries of Guru Nanak and Guru Gobind Singh and the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. 1.
