GONDA, BHAI

GONDA, BHAI

GONDA, BHAI, a devoted Sikh of the time of Guru Har Rai (1630-61). He was sent to Kabul to Dreach Guru Nanak`s word and he esiabhshed there a dharamsal. According to Sarup Das Bhalla. Mnhimd Prakash, one day as he sat in contemplation concentrating his mind on the Guru`s feet, he fell into a trance.

At the same moment, Guru Har Rai sat motionless in the sangat at Kiratpur for several hours on end. Even the call for the Guru ka Langar went unheeded. When he at last arose, he told the sangal how Bhai Gonda at Kabul had kept him bound to his scat. The Guru did not, continues the Mahimd Prakash, wish to interrupt Bhai Gonda`s meditation.
