CHANGA, BHAI, a Bahil Khatri, was a devoted Sikh of the time of Guru Arjan. Once he, along with Bhai Phirna and Bhai Jetha of the same clan, waited on Guru Arjan. DES RAJ. BHAI, a Khatri Sikh of Amritsar, was entrusted with the supervision of the reconstruction of the Harimandar during the sixties and seventies of the eighteenth century. Nothing is known about his early life or family except that he originally came from Sursingh village, 30 km southwest of Amritsar, from where he migrated to the town and flourished in business, with a reputation for honesty and truthfulness. When the Sikhs sacked Sirhind in January 1764 and allocated several hundred thousands rupees from the plunder for the restoration of Sri Harimandar Sahib at Amritsar, demolished by Ahmad Shah Durrani two years earlier, they assigned Bhai Des Raj to undertake the reconstruction.
DIPA, BHAI, resident of the village of Dalla in present day Kapurthala district of the Punjab, has been listed by Bhai Gurdas, Varan, XI. 16, amongst the leading Sikhs of the time of Guru Amar Das. He had received instruction at the hands of the Guru himself. See RAMU, BHAI

GUAL DAS, BHAI, son of Chhote Mall and grandson of Bhai Paira, belonged to the family of Chhibbar Brahmans, originally of the village of Kariala, Jehlum district, now in Pakistan, who served successive Gurus from Guru Arjan (1563-1606) onwards. According to Bhatt Vahi records, he accompanied Guru Tegh Bahadur (1621-75) on his journey to the eastern parts in 1665-70.
