MOHI, village in Ludhiana district, 9 km from Jodhari (30°48`N, 75°48`E) along the Guru Gobind Singh Marg, has a shrine called Gurdwara Patshahi Dasvin, dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh. Guru Gobind Singh passed through this village on his way from Alamgir andJodhari to Hehrari at the end of 1`705. It is said that Guru Gobind Singh halted here to have a tightfitting ring removed from his finger by the village goldsmith. The present building of the Gurdwara, constructed in 1936, is a square room with a verandah on all four sides. A wide dome covers the entire room. A 33metre square walled bathing lank near by is called Sarovar Guru Sar. The shrine itself is affiliated to Gurdwara Sahib at Hehrari and is managed by a local committee under the overall charge of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.

In the winter of 1705, after the fierce battle of Chamkaur, Guru Gobind Singh Ji was on the move. With only a handful of companions, he journeyed through the villages of Punjab, carrying the weight of sacrifice and resilience.
One evening, Guru Ji reached Mohi, a humble village in Ludhiana district. The people welcomed him with reverence, offering what little they had. It was here that a small but meaningful moment unfolded: Guru Ji’s ring had become tight on his finger, and the village goldsmith was called upon. With care and devotion, the craftsman removed the ring.
This simple act—an ordinary villager helping the Guru—became extraordinary. It reminded the sangat that the Guru’s greatness was not distant or untouchable. He lived among the people, shared their struggles, and accepted their service with humility.
Today, the memory of that visit is preserved at Gurdwara Sri Patshahi Dasvin, Mohi. The shrine stands with its dome and sacred sarovar, a beacon of faith along the historic Guru Gobind Singh Marg. Pilgrims come not only to honor the Guru’s footsteps but also to reflect on the lesson Mohi teaches: that true strength lies in humility, and that every act of service—no matter how small—becomes sacred when offered with devotion.
